Hagia Sophia ticket price 2026 at a glance
The visitor area costs €25. The rate is the same for Turkish and foreign nationals. Children under 8 enter free and show ID at the turnstiles, so the full price starts on the eighth birthday.
The ticket belongs to the visitor route, not to the prayer space. Hagia Sophia is used as a mosque, and since 15 January 2024 foreign tourists have used a separate route with a ticket that leads to the upper gallery. Do not plan on walking through the ground-floor prayer hall as a tourist. This page is an independent guide and does not sell tickets.

Cash desk and online
Both a cash desk and online sale are mentioned. The online link on a visitor information page leads to a third-party booking platform. Do not assume a direct state checkout, a fee-free price or instant entry, and read the conditions of the booking you choose.
The entrance
As of July 2026 the visitor entrance is opposite the Fountain of Ahmed III on Bab-ı Hümayun Caddesi, close to the palace gate. This is a temporary access linked to the restoration work, so look for signs on the square.

What the ticket shows you
The restoration affects parts of the view.
The route leads to the upper gallery, where the mosaics are, among them the Deësis in the south gallery and the panels of Christ with Constantine IX and Zoe and of Mary with John II Komnenos and Irene. Work on the dome and the eastern half-dome was documented in September 2026, with a protective structure and a steel platform, and no firm completion date was named. Do not expect an unobstructed view of the dome or the prayer hall. The inside page lists what you can see, and the dress code page tells you what to wear.
